Metal Gear Solid 4: Guns of the Patriots may be the last game in the storyline but Konami isn’t done milking its beloved franchise just yet as evidences begin to mount on a possible Metal Gear related announcement at E3 2009.

In a recent blog post on Playstation.Blog, Brandon Laurino of Konami Online wrote the following:

“Stay tuned for updates in the coming weeks, as the one-year anniversary of the launch of Metal Gear Solid 4 approaches, we’ll be revealing even more awesome stuff to celebrate!”

Metal Gear Solid 4: Guns of the Patriots was released on June 12, 2008. The one year anniversary coincides with E3 2009, which takes place from June 2nd to June 4th.

I believe it was already confirmed Hideo Kojima would be showing off his new project, either Metal Gear or non-Metal Gear related game at E3 a fair while ago.

I'm betting on more expansion packs.

Same here, but i dont like the way you use the word "milked", none of the Metal Gear games have the tacky feel to them as other "milked" series do.

Yeah, its not like they're making Metal Gear Lego or anything. But I doubt its a new Metal Gear game. They didn't reveal a new MG game a year after the previous was released. Its probably gonna be expansions, maybe even DLC for the story mode of the game.
