Rumors began to spread like crazy earlier that 3D Realms closed down, then shortly afterwards followed a confirmation. Then videos and screens began to leak all over the Internet of what could have been. Well what if all this was planned? What if the company never closed and this was a ll a big hoax by the devs all leading to an astonishing press show at E3?

his weekend press outlets all over the net were lamenting the closure of 3D Realms and the possible last-minute cancellation of Duke Nukem Forever. Even we here at the GameFlavor Network got caught eulogizing the game and its creators before the supposed studio closure was even confirmed. The more we reflected on the news, however, the more we have become suspicious of the stories coming out of 3D Realms and resonating around the geek-o-sphere. Sure, studio closures are commonplace in the current economic recession, and we admit that the cancellation would make sense, especially if the developers really have accomplished nothing in the last 12 years of the game's development. Those cold facts aside, something tells us this story is fishy. And besides, everyone knows you never bet against the Duke.

I would say that this just adds to the DNF mythology. It's truly a game that will live on forever, without actually existing.

We recently got some footage, and if that's as far as they got in ten plus years, good riddance.

I dont care anymore, I just don't care.

This game amazed me, and I patiently awaited its release.....4 years ago....now......now, I just don't care.

Good bye, and so long Duke Nukem, you where certainly a very great game without even releasing, but even if you did, not even you could ever pass the almost 10 year hype.

You know, I don't think they were developing it for 10 years straight guys....

    You're forgetting several business-side matters.

I highly doubt it, but I suppose some people need to hope in the chance that Duke Nukem will be made and released.

Why the *bleep* does anyone care about a non-existent game? Especially Duke Nukem? This is getting 10x more attention than the other game 3D Realms confirmed to have been working on 2 years ago; Earth No More.

I seriously doubt it. Saying you're going bankrupt is pretty much the nail in the coffin for your buisness, especially if you're publicly held. Although, I don't know if they are. But if they are, they can't do that legally. You have report accurate business standings for your shareholders. Essentially that would be the reverse of what Enron did. Hell, people are even thinking of taking legal action against Apple to disclose Steve Job's health condition because it's tied so heavily to their stocks.

My thoughts exactly. So I highly doubt their closing is a hoax!
