A Rant On Bosses: Final Fantasy & Shank

Looks like Tomb Raider is getting a reboot- the gameplay will be revamped, it will be open-world and more survival-horror oriented, and Lara's story will be written from scratch. Theres has been no official confirmation on this yet, so take it with a grain of salt.
The original source goes to the site which first obtained the leak. Look at the alt. source for kotaku, which gives more details.
Say hello to the concept art for the new Tomb Raider reboot. Our mole, deep behind enemy lines (and armed only with his digital camera), woke me up at 2 in the morning to deliver you these goods. I haven't had a chance to fully digest the information here (getting it to you as quickly as possible was my paramount concern) but it seems like the new Tomb Raider will be, wait for it, Open World. Looks like the combat system has been completely revamped and that the story is starting over from Jumpstreet. I have no idea what the story is with the clawed... things... but, out of everything, they excite me the most. More screens through the portal.

Personally I don't like the sound of this.People who think the game is stale will likely disagree with me.But I may stop playng TR if they do this.
Another reboot? Damn, the legend saga was good, and I still want more, I didn't get the chance to play Underworld yet, but I doubt it would end there after 2 games.
Survival horror oriented intrigues me though. If it is more S/H then proceed.

well anyway, I don't agree with your definition of a reboot. it can have a whole new story, or it can be a prequel or whatever. what matters is the game(play).
Eh, w/ever, we don't agree with each other, lets leave it at that.
the gameplay still has to be changed, at least somewhat, the plot doesn't matter as much.
Like with Max Payne 3. They're seemingly changing everything about what Max Payne is. In fact, that's not even a reboot, it's a sequel, so that just makes things even worse.
If you change everything about a game, why call it a sequel or a reboot? Why not just make it a new IP?.....Oh, that's right, money....I get it now...
Fair enough if they want to reboot the series with an update because, let's face it, the series has been stale for a while. But getting rid of everything that makes Tomb Raider "Tomb Raider" is more than a reboot. It's a new game/series alltogether.
Capcom was probably thinking the same exact thing with Resident Evil 4.
Games just do better under an already established name. It's the safer alternative. Though I would prefer it to be under a new title.
Legends came out in 2006, as the much needed reboot.
Underworld the sequel came out in 2008. 2 years later.
Anniversary was more just for a celebration of Tomb Raiders...I don't know 10th anniversary? Only 3 games.
That's it. 3.
This year we aren't even getting TR and by the looks of it, next year as well.
....anyone?......anyone at all?
....okay then
