RIZ-ZOAWD is the RPG based on the children's classic The Wonderful Wizard of Oz developed by Media Vision (Wild ARMs 5, XF). Now, if full Amazon and Gamefly listings are to be believed, publisher XSEED Games will be localizing the title, which did not do so hot in Japan, as The Wizard of Oz: Beyond the Yellow Brick Road, with an intended release date of September 29th. XSEED has not formally announced the title, so it's a rumor for now.
XSEED had teased two new announcements: one for Wii, and one for DS. The Wii title ended up being The Sky Crawlers: Innocent Aces.

RIZ... what in the where now? Developed by Media.Vision (mostly known for the Wild Arms series) RIZ-ZOAWD is an RPG based upon The Wizard of Oz. A GameFly listing has revealed XSEED is in the process of localising the title, under the new name The Wizard of Oz: Beyond the Yellow Brick Road.
The game features a very traditional turn-based combat system, and each member of your party has abilities based on their personalities from the story. For example, The Cowardly Lion has a higher chance of escaping from battle. XSEED had previously expressed interest in the title when it was still in development, but it's a tad surprising they went through with it after the abysmal Japanese sales. Here's hoping they have a bit more luck with it.
The Wizard of Oz: Beyond the Yellow Brick Road is due out in America later this year.
