During the Shin Megami Tensei Pachislot's promotional event in Japan, a pachislot publication named 7rush believes that they might have dropped the ball on Persona 5. According to the report, it was revealed at the event that Persona 5 will be released on the PS3. They said that the game will be formally announced by Atlus soon during the Shin Megami Tensei craze.

However, an alternate report of the event from Dengeki Online failed to mention anything about the news.

Remember the Shin Megami Tensei slot machine? One report from the event says something about Persona 5.

The news comes from pachinko publication 7rush, which claims Persona 5 will be announced for the PlayStation 3 soon in the midst of a MegaTen boom. (Thanks for the tip Pesmerga00!!) Persona 4 was also revealed in an unusual way with Bloomberg mentioning the game in a financial report.

However, other media like Dengeki Online were at the event and didn’t report anything about Persona 5.

Right or wrong, Persona 5 is inevitable. MegaTen is growing worldwide and Persona is leading the way.

7Rush didn't drop the ball on anything. Their Persona 5 PS3 mention was pure speculation and nothing more.

It really doesn't matter to me if they choose to keep it on the PS2. The games are masterpieces regardless. Though, a PS3 version might include Japanese audio which is a huge plus for me.

Bah, if this is true it looks like I'll have to go get me a PS3... I'll have to find the money somehow because I refuse to miss this game. XD

It had better be true, I've been waiting for this game. If giving them the satisfaction of "dropping the ball" makes the game officially announced, then they dropped the damn ball.

I think its too soon, Atlus doesn't have a strong enough audience on the PS3 to make the next installment on it.
