According to VG247, Assassin's Creed II might also be seeing a release on the DS. They believe that the game, titled Assassin's Creed II: Discovery, will be released with its counterparts in November. In support of this claim, Amazon.com have it listed as well. All three sites seem to strongly believe that the game will be released sometime in November, although none of them can pinpoint an exact date. We'll have to wait till Ubisoft comments on this to make it official.

VG247 understands that a DS version of Assassin’s Creed II - subtitled Discovery - will be released alongside the PC, PS3 and 360 SKUs on November 20 this year.

Play.com apparently understands this as well.

It’s never been announced. Ubi would not confirm nor deny the game’s existence today.

A second DS title has been long-rumoured: rest assured, it’s on.
We’ll have confirmation soon, hopefully.

The title makes it seems like they are full direct porting it to DS lol.

I fully expect there to be a Assassin's Creed 2 on DS (there was with the first, and went quite well from what I hear).

No, it was terrible. Does not translate well -- the PSP version will do, thank you, Ubisoft..

Aslong as it doesn't suck like most DS/Xbox games do, I'm okay with it.

Gahhh.... people dont seem to understand that this is a direct sequel to the current Assassin's Creed DS game. If game journalists did their job properly, there wouldn't be this much confusion and people thinking it ties in with Ezio and Venice.
