It rumored that a Halo 4 is the works by Gearbox. It was originally dismissed that the popular Xbox360 game would ever have another sequel. However, Garbox refuses to state whether this is indeed true or not.

When asked by Eurogamer whether one of its unannounced titles is indeed Halo 4, Gearbox boss Randy Pitchford replied “we're not going to talk about anything”, after which a PR representative reportedly terminated the interview, stating simply “we can’t talk about that”.

In total Pitchford refused to answer the question four times.

Bungie recently admitted that once the upcoming Halo: ODST and next year’s Halo: Reach are out of the way, it is likely to step away from the cult shooting franchise.

Microsoft, however, looks unlikely to do the same – particularly after the formation of Halo production studio 343 Industries.

Hmm... a Halo FPS without Bungie at the helm? I don't know... I just don't know...

    *facepalm*

GOD DAMN IT, THERE DOES NOT NEED TO BE A HALO 4. THE TRILOGY ENDED PERFECTLY AT THE END OF HALO 3 AND NOBODY BENEFITS FROM MAKING A HALO 4.

It's like George Lucas going back and making a Star Wars: Episode VII. It won't be good, the plot will be disjointed, and it would piss a lot of people off.

Sinc when has the gaming industry just let things go? They obviously just want more money.

i dont think halo 3 ended perfectly, the chief is still alive floating through space, or in the legendary ending heading towards some planet to either crash on it or he is in orbit around it. if bungie was to act on it own i think they would of killed the chief in the end but he is still alive with speculation over where he is heading. the music alone at the end of the legendary ending says wherever he is heading its probably hostile.

I don't think I'd mind another Halo as long as it picked up where the last one left off. I played halo to see the story through, that's pretty much the only reason. And I think Halo 3's endnig was horrible . . . just like Resistance 2's ending (which I just saw after finally getting the game)!
