Rumor: PS3 Slim with price Drop will be announced at GamesCom

These rumors have been circulating around the internet for months now and there's more to add to fire. Jeuxvideo.com, one of the biggest French gaming websites, reports that retailers are expecting a $100 price drop for the PS3 alongside a new model, which will most likely be the Slim. They report that Sony will show off this model at GamesCom which is only a few weeks away.

    I honestly don't believe this at all so whatever. I doubt a ps3 slim will happen for another year or two.

        Which would make it $299. And people would still bitch purely because $299 is more than $199, and the 360 is $199.

          The seperate Blu-Ray player is irrelevent because most 360 gamers don't need it. Adding the batteries into the cost is being a little anal. Point is, at face value, the 360 still costs less than the PS3.

          yeah blu ray is not a necessity. sure its nice to have but so far 360 has been doing just fine having games on dual layer DVD.

          and "+$50 for wireless internet" makes no sense. i dont know if you mean a wireless router, a wireless adapter that plugs into the 360 or an actual internet service. you have to have an internet service for PS3 too, yes the PS3 has built in wi-fi, but in all honesty, wired is 10x better for gaming than wireless is so the wireless adapted PS3s have to me is useless. you are a moron if you think wireless is better than wired for gaming. its far less reliable.

          You can still go wired with the PS3, though. So I don't see what that has to do with this.

      Exactly, there is absolutely no substance to this rumor of almost a year. The media just keeps stabbing in the dark because they know it will eventually happen their just not sure when.

    Yea and MGS4 is coming to the 360, fatal frame 4 is being release everywhere outside of japan and ff7 is being remade.
