HK magazine cover claims PS3 Slim is confirmed, will be out next month

Now I know many of you are sick of seeing PlayStation 3 Slim rumors, and believe me, I'm not fond of them either. However, this recent development is pretty interesting, especially if you can read Chinese.

A Hong Kong magazine cover shows a waffle iron-esque object, and the text surrounding it reads:

"Confirmed! Slim PS3 comes out next month!"

With GamesCon on the way, PlayStation 3 rumors are building like crazy.

The latest "evidence" comes to us all the way from Hong Kong. An HK magazine cover shows an odd looking PlayStation 3, and the Chinese text beside it reads: "Confirmed! Slim PS3 coming next month!"

The smaller text below that references a convention in Germany (GamesCon), but then it just gets too blurry to pick out. That's the gist of it; whoever runs this magazine seems pretty sure of himself, considering this announcement appears on the cover.

    Well, the least you can say is that there is an obvious demand for it. I posted up an article of an advertisement showing the 360 Elite going down to $299, and it hasn't gotten many ratings.

    Not complaining of course, it just seems that a price drop/new SKU for Sony seems to be more popular than a price drop on the 360.

      I have no doubt a Slim modem will be announced soon; but I don't think we've actually seen what it really looks like yet. Even if the news of an August 18 announcement is true, the images we have seen thus far are all fan-made.
