Fans who haven't been too happy with the direction the Resident Evil movies are going in, the series is sort of being rebooted. It might not be quite what fans want, but at least it's closer to the source material.

No word on whether actress Milla Jovovich will return.

Instead of moving forward with the ongoing story, the studio is planning a quasi-reboot, which is tentatively titled Resident Evil Begins. While it's a long, long, long way off, the idea is to redo the story of a special military unit who fights a powerful, out-of-control supercomputer and hundreds of scientists who have mutated into flesh-eating creatures after a laboratory accident. What do you guys think about a reboot only 8-9 years after the franchise began?

My concern with the movie franchise was that the first one was simply amazing, and then it just moved into a zombie/action fest which you could pretty much see in any zombie/action movie. It just all went downhill after the first movie - as the fear factor was removed due to Alice becoming some super human killing machine. Not a great move, in my opinion.

That last one...Resident Evil extinction ( the animated one) was just plain horrible to be honest. So I won't have any great expectations from this.
