The PS3 did, the Xbox 360 did, so why not the Wii? Well rumors are coming in that the Wii might be getting a price cut this October. Kotaku received a flier from walmart advertising the 'roll-back' for the Wii. If this is true, then we could see huge sales for the Wii once again.

Advance retail listings forwarded to Kotaku indicate that Nintendo is planning to issue its first price drop on the Wii, with a less expensive version of the console—currently priced at $249 USD—coming the first week of October.

That listing comes from an early version of a Walmart ad that loosely dates, but does not price a "rollback" for Nintendo's console. While the ad is not official confirmation of a price drop, the timing makes sense, as the Wii is about to enter its fourth holiday shopping season at its original price.

If it gets a price cut, then Sony and Microsoft are going to get fairly screwed over.

Seeing as the Wii has many family games, and is more enjoyable by kids, it makes the perfect present from the parents. And considering how cheap it would get, I can't see many parents NOT buying a Wii at some point.
