SEGA Leaks SCEA Meeting Minutes: PS2 emulation, Import PSN, Dreamcast Digital Titles, and More

On SEGA America's media FTP, there is a file uploaded with what appears to be meeting minutes with Sony on August 5th about various topics.

The notables:

  • Spring 2010 launch for Sony Motion Controller (March in Japan)
  • SCEA to provide a list of SEGA IP that could work with motion controller
  • SCEA recommends Bayonetta PSN demo around Christmas for January 5th ship date
  • Could put Japanese games directly on PSN for download in a special Japanese Import section ($9.99 to $39.99 for full game) with some localization
  • Possible "Sonic Anniversary" compilation with all Sonic games on one BD.
  • SCEA wants to sell all PS2 titles on PSN
  • Possible Dreamcast Digital Download titles: SEGA should provide SCEA with titles they may be interested in


Of course, these will be all rumor until otherwise verified.

    I am up for Dreamcast Downloads.. Shenmue 1 and 2 PLEASE!! I know it's teasing myself as they will never make Shenmue 3, but it is a phenomenal series.

    Dreamcast emulation on the PS3?

    Oh Sega, you make a grown boy blush. Regardless of if I have a working Dreamcast that can easily play backup disks, I would gladly buy a few games; especially some that I haven't gotten around to playing. Shenmue 2 was only released in Japan, and Xbox was the only other console to have it.

    If this is all true, amazing. But poor Sony, can anyone keep a secret any more? I mean... the only major surprise at E3 was Final Fantasy 14

      This could have easily been one of Sony's big announcements at TGS. Unlucky Sony though please be true, I need Shenmue 1 and 2. Perhaps if the games are cheap enough, and enough people buy it may spur Yu Suzuki into forcing Sega to fund the ellusive and final game in the trilogy.

    So I'm guessing thats why Sony did that B/C thing awhile back. You'll just download it to your hardrive probably and start playing PS2 games like you had the chip? Wont it be a bit slowed down though...

    Well going on the premise that this is all true. . .

    I'm really surprised the controller is up and running so soon! I was expecting it to be a couple more years actually, not spring of next year!

    And all PS2 titles on the PSN . . . yup that's exactly what I was thinking Sony would do. I don't mind too much. I have a 60gig and all my old PS2 games that I can play on disc. However . . . if they manage to somehow make them playable through Remote Play, I'll be very happy
