Yet another rumor about Cross Game Chat has been leaked onto the internet and this one comes from one of VG247's 'decent' sources; This is probably around the 90th rumor yet, so don't get your hopes up. But if it does happen, well, it's about time.

A VG247 source said today that Sony has informed developers of plans to incorporate cross-title voice chat in PS3 play by the end of October. The feature will be added in Firmware update 3.10, we were told.Cross-title chat is consistently one of the most asked-for features on PS3 – looks like Sony’s ready to deliver.

I don't care about it, but good news if its true, since it'll shut the whiners up a bit.

I am waiting for Sony to come back with figures on how much the feature is used. I mean they seem to have a way of knowing what we are doing on our PS3's whether it is gaming or accessing another OS, as they have the figures to back it up. So I can simply not wait until Sony comes out with "It's been 6 months since we released XGC and only 20% use it" I bet that is what it will come down to, like babies PS3 owners want something because they haven't got it and when they get it it they don't use it. So many people wanted custom soundtracks now that we have it and some games are using it, people are now saying "but the actual games original soundtrack works better" so they don't even use it.. Just drives me mad.

So true, almost a completely useless feature and people are not going to realize it until after release. Why the hell would I want to talk to somebody while im playing a game? It just ruins it for me.

Unless its online, but thats different.

Exactly. Online it's fine as generally you are talking to people playing the same game but if I wanted to talk to someone while playing a game they would be in the same room as me. I am not going to be talking to someone online that is just on their PS3 for the sake of talking, or worse playing another game so all I can hear is "BOOM HEADSHOT!" and "OMG *bleep*ING PWNED!!!" all the time with no idea why he/she is saying it, it really is a way to lose concentration as it is bad enough when there is someone sat next to you jabbering down your ear.

I know quite a few people who would actually use this feature a lot. Of course, I am friends mainly with those who share my interests in the networking and community of the PS3, so communication is the main thing we always want more of for the PS3 (and the features fine-tuned).

    I don't know how much I'd use it though . . .

But then I still wondering if this does come out . . . will it be what people are expecting it to be? I foresee the usual hordes of whiners complaining that it "PHAILS!" or "SONY=EPIC FAIL" that plagues the internet.

Personally I don't see Xbox 360 users really giving a damn whether we get this feature or not. At the end of the day if they really give a shit they have a come back of "We've had the feature for 3 years, you guys took long enough". I do not see the point in saying such stupid shit. At the end of the day they are both good systems and I am happy for those that wanted this even though I do not see the point, at the end of the day this is one more feature that puts us closer to rivaling Xbox Live but we still have some way to go. So really being a Sony fanboy doesn't help your cause as regardless of whether they pay or not Xbox 360 users have had the features we PS3 owners get all excited about for over 3 years... It's no big deal to them.

Fanboy = backing a system no matter what.

I've owned all 3 consoles, so that technically voids me of being a fanboy since I bought a rival product. So, fail.

Eh . . . not really. Fanboy is really anyone who thinks one system is the Own All and disses the others. Fanboy is constantly thinking one console is perfect in every way possible and can do no wrong. Fanboy is like. . . . well there's a lot of ways fanboys have about them. But yes, fanboys CAN own the competition . . . if for no other reason than to have hands on experience with them so they can say they hate them even with hands on experience.

Now what would make you not a fanboy would be if you realize all of them have their pros and cons, and that the 360 and Wii do have some good things about them, as does the PS3 (and they likewise has some shortcomings too).

I currently OWN a PS3 and a Wii, and of course there are good things about the Wii. I've owned a 360, I thought Gears was alright. But I found the PS3 to be much much better, and I got one. All of these damn fanboy accusations are such shit, you all take this stuff to heart LOL.

Proving my point further. When I address these false 'tags' thrown agaisnt me, you ignore my main point and decide to poke fun like a child.

Neoseeker is a child's playground anymore.
