Currently Sony doesn't have a name for their upcoming motion controller. You can just imagine a bunch of chimpanzees writing away clever names behind a typewriter. While that isn't true, what could be true is this new rumored name for the controller. 'Sphere' as it was called by a Sega Producer. No word on if this is the official name, but errors in translation do happen.

One name Sony may be using with developers is "Sphere," a word that highlights the glowing, colored orb central to the motion controller's technology. Sega producer Yasuhito Baba and his translator both referred to the controller as "Sphere" during an interview at Tokyo Game Show last month. Polyphony Digital's Kazunori Yamauchi also talked about the PlayStation Motion Controller when we asked him if Gran Turismo would support the "Sphere" peripheral.

Or it could be called 'dildo', but what do I know about marketing?

And you know it's going to be used for that in those ...particular... Japanese games.

I think they should call it the "Dual Sphere" instead of just "Sphere" because its much more catchy.

Wouldn't that be false advertising as you only get one Sphere. You only need one to play the games, the only time you'll get Dual Sphere is when you buy two and use both in one game.
