It appears as though Sony may have let the cat out of the bag with this one. Sure it was likely to be coming all along, but should it not have been Insomniac's choice to announce the 3rd title in the Resistance series?

Perhaps it's just a massive mistake, but then again, a little to late to be advertising a game that's a year old?

Picture the scene, you're in Shreveport, Lousiana and you see the pictured billboard. You're a little surprised to see an ad for Resistance 2, considering the game was released last year, but then you look again. Wait a second, Resistance ... 3?

The statue of liberty is on there. And it wasn't on R2. So...yeah, self explanatory,

Unless this is just a big gimmick, I'd say thats legit.

But its really a no brainer that R3 would be out next year, given Insomniac's past record of releasing a game every year. But good to see something about the game is beginning to surface.

Let's just hope they can go back to their RFOM roots instead of COD-ifying it like they did with R2.

Eh, I still don't see the whole deal about that. I felt the new gameplay was different, but just as good as the first.

I have no idea what the problem was with using the L1 to zoom. The biggest problem I had was the 2 weapon limit. Kinda defeats the whole weapon variety that the first game introduced.

And maybe this time they will use more MAJOR locations. I mean, Orick? Cocodrie, Louisiana? Yeah, New York HAS to be next.

        R:FOM Gameplay/Theme >>>>>>>>>>>>> Resistance 2's Gameplay/Theme by ALOT.

IG have sort of split up their Resistance community by removing the gritty hopeless theme of R:FoM and replacing it with the newer brighter one. Some people like the new one, others hate it to hell. I personally hate the *bleep* out of it.

Oh Sony, I actually feel bad for you guys when something relatively big is announced without your consent.

The only major announcement you've managed to keep secret has been the Final Fantasy 14 trailer at E3.

Okay I doubt someone figured out the new logo for R3 and then went on spray painting it perfectly on a billboard. Something tells me some ordered this. If its real.

Figured out the logo? It's the same as the last two logo's minus the 3 and some very minor differences. I could easily whip up a fake R3 logo in Photoshop if I had the exact font they used for Resistance. I could do the effects simply by clipping parts of the other letters or older instances of the logo (R2/FoM)

Oh, yes, definitely. I'm not saying it was fan made, but that this wasn't supposed to be seen by anyone not on set. This movie is set to release early 2011, that's when we were supposed to see it.

Wait, this is in Shreveport?! Aw man I've got to see it! Maybe this week. Nothing seems to happen like this close to my area, so I'll have to check it out

Okay so wait a minute... Usually whatever is in the A in the logo has significant meaning in the plotline, so if the Liberty Tower is there it doesn't make much sense... The Chimera already raped the U.S.A. and if I'm not mistaking the Tower of Liberty's are only in America right? So wtf?

They better not go back to that bright Resistance 2 shit in any case.

Edit: There's also something in the I now?

I agree, I was hoping for Russia. New York seems a bit of a let down..

Shoo, forget the place. I just wanna know what in the world is going to happen with Hale!

I do wonder why they have the SOL in there though. I wouldn't expect them to visit America again in the third (and probably final) installment. Russia, where they started would be a good guess. But I'm too confused about the ending of R2 and what they were looking at. If I knew that, then we might have a better guess.

Its possible we do play a portion of the game pushing the chimera out of america. I mean the first level for R2 was iceland. so, the first level for R3 could be New york.
