Mass Effect 2 Coming To PS3? Bioware: "Probably"

During the Ponzan Game Arena, a gaming convention which takes place in Poland, Jay Vatamanyuk of BioWare mentioned that Mass Effect 2 is targeted at 3 platforms: 360, PC and probably PS3. However, he clammed up after that, saying that they do not comment on rumors and speculation. Accidental reveal of future plans, or just another mistake?

Jay Vatamanyuk of BioWare, and writer on Mass Effect 2, talked of three platforms for the game: Xbox 360, PC and "probably the PS3."

This is the first time anyone at BioWare has admitted to PS3 development on the title. However, Vatamanyuk then stood back from his statement when asked, stating (as usual) that he would "not comment on rumour and speculation."

    Nothing stopping them releasing both the ME games on PS3 in a couple of years after they rustle up a team to port it over from 360 though, is there?
    I'm guessing that's what they've got planned.

      True, but they never had a deal with Microsoft. ME being exclusive was their decision.

    Just check this Developer Post. He said there was a misunderstanding. It is coming out for Xbox 360 and PC only

    EA says no, Bioware's staff don't seem to know what the *bleep* is going on and the 360 fanboys are having a bitchfit.

      Bioware know that the second they greenlight the PS3 port EA will accept it as it means money at the end of the day. They'll do the same if Valve ever ported Left 4 Dead 2 lol.

    He probably just said that to kick off rumours again and get more hits on ME2.

    However, considering it's only coming to 360, people who only own a PS3 are missing out on possibly one of the best if not the best RPG of 2010.

      Not a bad thing I mean the PS3 has the best RPG of 2009. We can't have them all afterall, not much will beat Demon's Souls as far as action RPG's go.

        360's getting Dragon Age. It'll be better, as much as I love Atlus, you can't beat Bioware.

          he's not saying PS3 isnt getting it too, he's saying it will be better than Demon Souls, which im not agreeing with that, but im not disagreeing either. Dragon Age looks really hard to beat in the RPG area, Bioware just owns.

          ME2 is only missing this year by what 23 days? That's not much of a wait.

          yup, i just cant believe that Bioware is launching 2 totally kick ass looking RPGs so close together. they are amazing.

          The Old Republic isn't too far off either is it?

          I'm usually not a fan of MMO's save for Phantasy Star ep.1 and 2 on the Xbox. I may have to give this a shot though.

    Actually the 360 fanboy crowd has been quite bitchy on this subject; not around here (from what I've seen at least) but a fair number places have them.

    As always though, this is Kave En; if you take anything he says about this kind of subject with any form of seriousness or tension it's your own fault tbh.

      No I'm sure people are freaking, I'm not going to act like 360 fans are so mature that no one cares. There's always going to be that kind of reaction to a console losing an exclusive - but it's not a plague or anything. I'd need to look for it to find it. That's not a super freak out to me. The reaction to FF I couldn't avoid. I guess because I check mainly IGN and Neoseeker that I don't see it. IGN seems to be more "HAHA" reactions from PS3 fans rather than "GOD NO" reactions.

      But I mean, Kave En get to me? Yeah, how big a troll he is reeeeally gets to me. Knowing how he has such a terrible personality that he'll die alone clutching a Kaz Hirai photo in one hand and a tub of vaseline in the other totally bothers me. He clearly wins this round!

      It's more shocking to me how people like him exist rather than bothersome. This stuff is a holy war to people like him. That sucks to me. He's probably just baiting people and actually enjoys the arguments. I shouldn't facilitate it like I just did here, but I'm weak.

        We're all guilty of it, you just do it a lot more to this particular troll. If you know you shouldn't feed him yet you still do and if you write comments that long about him then, on some level, he's obviously getting to you.

    First you say I'm seeing fanboy attacks, then you retract what you say and add in they arn't happening here and there will always be reactions like that. Get your story straight.

    Secondly, I do acknowledge Microsoft more than you think, in a positive manner. I give them props for their 3 year warranty policy, but the RRoD shouldn't have been a problem. Gears Of War was fun. So therefore, by praising an exclusive (and owning a Nintendo Wii and PS3) I forfeit all possible chances at getting the title fanboy.

Have you ever made a comment on a article that involved the PS3 and/or 360 and not trolled with some "LOL@M$" comment? If you're not a fanboy, then WHY is your first reaction to the PS3 getting XGC as "get wrecked 360 fanboys"? Is that what regular gamers do, attack other console owners BEFORE being happy for themselves? At best you're a tired act of a huge PS3 fanboy that's lost all cleverness and at worst you're the single biggest fanboy on the planet. I've never seen you make a comment and a discussion stem from it. You've just wrote some downs syndrome inspired anti-360, pro-PS3 rant and caused shit. What the hell?
