Hugh Jackman Might Play Nathan Drake In Uncharted Movie

Nathan Drake's voice actor, Nolan North, has expressed interest in playing the role of Nathan Drake in a possible Uncharted movie, but if that doesn't happen, then he wouldn't mind seeing Hugh Jackman play the role. Apparently the producers wouldn't mind it either...

When prompted on who he’d like to see play the part of Nathan Drake, North explains Hugh Jackman is his choice, and seemingly the front-runner for the part.

“Jackman is who I’d like to see. I think the producers would like to see Jackman too, because he has that tough guy exterior, but [...] there’s also a lot going on behind his eyes. A lot of emotion and sensitivity on that brusque exterior, and he has great comic timing. He’s a phenomenal actor. I just hope I get a part on the movie so I can work with Hugh.”

    I don't think people understand just how essential Nolan North and Emily Rose are to their roles. Drake and Elena aren't great characters because they can shoot down entire armies with pistols and without the need of Kevlar vests, they have among the best fleshed out personalities in video games. Quite frankly, I don't think that's something you can recreate with other actors with a script. I mean you see the cinematic cutscenes with the mo-cap/voice acting and it's like watching a movie and they might as well be acting actual scenes.

    ...plus, North does a pretty bad ass Christopher Walken impression, period.

    I wouldn't mind either. On one hand Nolan has already proved he has most of the qualities necessary, and is pretty much a sure thing. But Hugh Jackman isn't exactly a slouch with the looks or style either, and has his star power on top of that.

    I like Hugh in some of his rolls; but I'm not a fan of him at all in his more actiony rolls. Loved him in The Fountain though, good stuff.

        I understand how people hated the movie. I like the director and love his style, so I guess it grew on me mostly for that reason.

          Eh, that's alright I was half-joking. I do hate the movie though, but I say it's mind-rotting because when I watched it I watched it with my cousin who ended up being one of the most confused people I've ever seen (and laughed at) after watching it.

    Hugh is a great actor who has made a couple of dodgy choices for roles. Anyone canning his ability doesn't know what they're talking about.

    Eh, I didn't expect Nolan to get it. So really I'm not surprised. This is alright though, they could have done a hell of a lot worse. Jackman is great at the charming sarcastic character.

    Movie still hinges on director, script, and budget. As always.

    If you guys read the entire interview (or listen), you would know the reasons why Nolan would prefer to have a big name playing Drake as opposed to himself.
