There have been rumors that Xbox Live party chats will be held to the same team in Modern Warfare 2, restricting the opposite teams players from joining the party. This would be a good feature for anyone who wants to play very competitively, without cheating.

If you were looking forward to a big Xbox Live party when Modern Warfare 2 launches, it seems that Skype may be your best friend. It's being reported that Infinity Ward's FPS sequel will block Xbox 360 parties, meaning that you and your friends will have to be on the same team in order to chat

      They only block in Search and Destroy to stop people ghosting. It's an anti cheat method which will actually help those serious about clan play. So many times Search and Destroy is used to settle a clan match only to have the other team win because they have someone in party chat telling the others where we are. This is a good thing!

    That's pretty random, sure it stops cheating in SnD but how on earth does party chat affect Team Deathmatch. The whole point of party chat is so i can talk to my friends whilst playing with them and not having random strangers listening in on our conversations.

    This isn't a terrible decision. It'll help prevent cheating and looks like it's only active in certain game types.
