Even though the 360 and PC versions of The Last Remnant were released over a year ago, there hasn't been much news on the PS3 version, leading many people to believe that it has been cancelled.

Today Square Enix revealed a release calendar for their upcoming games, and The Last Remnant PS3 isn't even on the list. Perhaps the cancellation rumors are indeed true?

The issue in question is vol.13, which features Final Fantasy XIII on the cover. A release calendar in the back of the issue lists titles of note from the company and its publishing/distribution partners (Ubisoft, Disney, and Taito). Last Remnant 2 is not listed in the date TBA area, which includes such games as The Third Birthday, NieR Gestalt/Replicant, and Front Mission Evolved.

I am inclined to agree. The game had very little in way of appeal; it felt very tacky for some reason. An improvement over Infinite Undiscovery though; although personally I don't see that as being much of an acolade.

Lost Odyssey on PS3 would be awesome. Not going to happen though.

The only drawback I felt in Infinite was the voice over. The combat was fun and it has a bit of replayability in it because of New Game + features.

Last Remnant was simply boring and the game was cut in half because of them trying to push it out too soon.

Not a surprise. Square Enix severed the Sony loyalties when they announced Final Fantasy XIII on the Xbox 360. Somehow I think the only real RPG we will get from Square Enix this generation is Final Fantasy XIII and Versus, the rest will simply be on the Xbox 360.

I have to agree here. It's a trend that only a fanboy would ignore; Squenix has been showing strong favoritism this generation, with no PS3 exclusives outside Versus, and countless 360 exclusive titles releasing almost consistently.

But they have yet to release something actually innovative and/or replayable lately, so I don't know if we're facing a real loss here.
