Star Wars: Battlefront 3 fan site, Battlefront3.net, have some interesting information to share. They managed to email Chris Marazzo, an actor who was rumored to be working on Battlefront 3, and asked him about his work. In his reply, he stated that Battlefront 3 is still currently in development and hasn't been canned altogether.

So, I received some promising news this morning in my email, which may bring a couple smiles to a few Battlefront 3 fans. On December 10th, I came across a link on the LucasArts forums (Thanks: robpolman) which included a link to an actor (Chris Marazzo) who has recently done some work with LucasArts on the secretly rumored Battlefront 3.

I thought this was very interesting, so I took the liberty of sending Chris an email. Basically, I asked him if he had the time to discuss what he had done with LucasArts and if he could disclose some information on the Battlefront 3 project.

Well this is nice to know, but who is the game now under? LucasArts? And if so, is it an all new game, or a continuation of the tidbits and glimpses we've seen and heard before?

I believe Free Radical said that a lot of their copyrighted technical features such as seamless planet-to-space transitions went to the grave with their company. So while the game will still be what FR started, a lot of the cool little features they had trademarked can't be switched over since Free Radical owned rights on them, and Free Radical obviously isn't around anymore.

I bet everyone ten to one that it's another PSP title and they will screw over the massive console market once again. Since this seems to be a special skill of LucasArts, who only remains afloat due to it's ownership of key characters far more successfully owned by a different subsidiary.
