GameZone has discovered that David Jaffe wants to discuss the next iteration of Twisted Metal with dedicated fans via his website. This may be alluding to an announcement for an upcoming sequel to Sony's franchise.

"A new poll posted on David Jaffe’s website is asking gamers what they’d like to see in an upcoming installment to the Twisted Metal franchise. Jaffe, director of the series as well as the first installment of the God of War franchise, is known for his candor about the video-game industry, so it seems possible that he could be at the very least considering revisiting the beloved vehicle-combat franchise."

It's a rumour that has been hatched every year since the Playstation 3 released.

That's what I was thinking when I first read the article title. It's been rumoured for ages now.

Mainly mine. I've been one of those rare die-hard Twisted Metal fans since TM1 came out in '95. I've been dying for a follow up to Black.

I really wish he would too. Seeing Sweet Tooth blowin the shit outa Spectre and Thumper then pissing on their ashes would bring tears to my eyes.

I would prefer a focus on single player myself. People forget about this in their Multiplayer fervor, but single player used to be what games were about....

With online they can just take the story levels + some extras, and throw some gameplay modes and weapons, it really doesn't need a whole lot of focus IMO.

You don't need a whole lot to make a multiplayer aspect while keeping the single-player full and intact. Hell, if ya think about it, apart from ranks and perks, MW2's online is nothing more than some random locations with people shooting each other. And I'm sure it'd be easy to apply ranks and perks to a Twisted Metal game without losing focus of the single-player.

though the style of Twisted Metal just begs multiplayer, if you think about it...

Other than a few conversations, he isn't involved in GOWIII at all.
