Rumor: Sonic to be playable in Super Mario Galaxy 2

In a very surprising announcement, the UK magazine NGamer supposedly heard from an inside source at Nintendo. This source supposedly told the magazine that Sonic will be playable in the upcoming Wii exclusive, Super Mario Galaxy 2. Leaving the entire gaming community in perhaps the most severe case of "WTF?!" so far this year. More information after the jump.

UK magazine Ngamer has posted an interesting tweet on Twitter this afternoon, making a rather bold claim that not only comes right out of the left field and has left us all a bit dazed and confused here at Nintendo Life Towers.

    .......what? Sonic being a playable character in it is pretty "wtf" worthy, but what I'm more curious about is how he'll be tied into the storyline if at all.

    ... Well, this is interesting. Not too sure if it'll pan out, but I hope to God playing as him isn't mandatory if this is true.

    3D Sonic in any form makes me wary. =\
