If any of the previous Sonic games are anything to go by, we can certainly expect Dr. Robotnik, but just how identical are the games going to be? This screenshot (Sega yet to confirm) looks identical and the previously leaked footage looks very similar to Green Hill Zone.

I played that level over 10 years ago! If you ask me it's a little odd, especially as this is Sonic 4, not the original, but then again it does bring back memories of the good old days!

I was kinda hoping the game would look a little more 16-bit than the screenshot portrays, but if that is the games only fault then bravo Sega you are about to release what could be my game of the year. Also you better make it Dr. Robotnik again Eggman is just retarted.

So, instead of making bosses (and arguably levels) they just copy and pasted old ones with a slight graphics upgrade?

    Lame, be creative Sega.

People complain when Sega do something new, people when Sega release the original with updated graphics. Sonic with updated graphics is perfectly fine.

Nothing wrong with being different, but that doesn't have anything to do with whether the game turns out good or not. Both of the Sonic Adventure games were different than the original sidescrollers, but they were still extremely well-received. Sega just needs better ideas, and if this new game is truly a remake, then that just shows how much they've given up in trying.

Well that was just the first Robotnik encounter. Who's to say they will all be the same? Even if they are, its not a big deal. Its the first true Sonic game in years. I stoked for that alone.

For some reason, I remember the first Robotnik bosses always having a Drill or Swinging Ball. That's really all I can remember from the ones that I've played however.

The first game was the swinging ball, the second game had him in a vehicle with a drill on the front. Can't remember the third game's first boss, nor S&K.

could just be an homage to the first sonic games?

It could be just that one boss fight, maybe even that one level. Maybe even a special level, who knows?

More importantly who cares? If it's the original sonic with touched up graphics then there's almost no way it can be screwed up.

I agree. It's like seeing a screen of the first Bowser from New Super Mario Bros DS and imediatly coming to a conclusion it's just the original Supe Mario Bros.

sonic 3 & knuckles did do a throw back to both sonic and sonic 2 also sonic advance 1 also reused an old boss so its not like Sega hasn't done this before.
