How much would you be willing to pay for a Nintendo 3DS? According to a Lazard analyst, it could be more than you expected based on the past history of what handhelds were priced at.
In our report on the Nintendo E3 press conference, we listed the price of the Nintendo 3DS as one thing that was missing. The introduction of the new 3D handheld console was widely applauded and the lineup of games and publishers was impressive. Thoughts of how much the 3DS might cost were put aside in the excitement but it may come out to be much more expensive than anticipated according to Lazard Capital Markets analyst Colin Sebastian. He believes that the 3DS packs enough punch to retail for up to $299

$250 - $300 seems about right to me. Any more is ridiculous.
But I wouldn't like to pay $300, my poor pockets can't take it.
I'm more interested in the price of the games.
The lack of touch on the top screen, the 0.3 Megapixel cameras, and the 800×240 - 320×240 pixel screen resolutions are a bit disappointing and shows they aren't using the best tech that's available for phones, so they probably aren't using the fastest of ARM processors ether.
Nintendo always places a lower price as a higher priority over performance. A $300 DS just doesn't fit their business model.

edit: nevermid, they said it would cost more than the DSi XL. So technically it could be only $200. But again, that's unlikely.
