If Activision plans on making it so you have to pay to play online CoD, then I'm done with it.

This. It's not like their titles are even quality anymore.

I doubt they would require a subscription just to play the multiplayer; they're probably adding more features.

Halo 3 has something called "Bungie Pro" which gives you 4x the file share slots you normally have, and also allows you to upload your clips that were recorded with the game engine to be rendered, so they can be played back on your PC. Stuff like that takes up a lot of server space, so it's no surprise they would require a subscription fee. Also, it doesn't interfere with the game at all. You still get 6 slots to share your files with (which is already a feature that barely any console game have), and having your footage in a format playable on a PC obviously isn't a necessity.

Activision aren't complete idiots. I'm sure they have an idea of the limits of what they can do. They're probably doing something similar to what Bungie did. New features that don't interfere with the original game.

I for one think this is great. It could possibly lead to Bobby Koticks ass being fired, which I for one fully support.

I was about to say this as well. Let them go through with it and watch MW2 population drop and Black Ops sell like shit. With all the other shooters coming out later this year, this would hopefully bring an end to Bobby Kotick.

All in all it seems Activision no longer thinks that consumers can fight back for some reason. They deserve a big fat "*bleep* off." imo.

Many people have stopped (and are still stopping) playing MW2 because it is generally just full of bullshit like commando, etc. This will only serve to kill even more peoples interest in the game.

Well I can see this crashing and burning, or rather I hope to see it crashing and burning.
