I doubt that they'd be the ones to know really... but that does make sense. That first 3 months has been good to them, and they've been releasing games there consistently for the past couple years, and then LA Noire coming up, which I think slipped a bit.

So...the release date is "leaked" with not even a word on the game itself? Yeah. Ok.

There has been word... Major websites found a listing for auditions to play roles in the next GTA. The listing was for a game called Rush but they did investigating and found the posting was by Rockstar Games and hearkened back to GTA IV being known as Frozen in the audition phase.

GTA V is being made and if they started auditioning voice actors then the game is in the final stretch as voice work is generally the last stage, before minor tweaks. The game is as good as done by now it just needs an announcement and that will come at E3.

I meant no word on gameplay, plot, location, characters, etc. I know it's being made, but a release date and not even a glimpse of the game yet?

Probably to stem hype. Rockstar know the hype pretty much killed GTA IV so they are smart to keep details low. I mean 2 years before GTA IV we had hundreds of screen-shots, hundreds of previews to read, videos of gameplay and then by the time it released it didn't live up to hype for many... This time the game will benefit from a short build up.

hopefully GTA5 wont turn out to be such over hyped crap as GTA4 was. go back to the Vice City/San Andreas style please.

not that i care a whole lot as i think Red Dead is their better series anyway.

Red Dead has been neglected as far as DLC other than Undead Nightmare, which was disappointing from a multiplayer standpoint...should have added more in depth stuff to the free roam map IMO.

true although i must say Undead Nightmare is probably my most favorite DLC released for any game ever, it was so unbelievably good. the single player story was awesome and i spent so much time playing the undead overrun game online or whatever its called. sooo much fun, at least when you get put with players who dont suck. i always end up carrying my teammates every single game. finally got the wave 15 achievement when i was put with 2 guys who knew what they were doing.

Yuck no, GTA IV was the only good one -__-
Seriously, the awesomeness that is GTA IV, or flying into a military base with a jet pack and stealing alien goo?(san andreas)

San Andreas was the best GTA though GTA IV was just... boring.

Agree, I'd still play SA over IV any day. Even though I've beaten SA like 4 times.

GTA IV was a technical marvel, and an impressive showcase, but they forgot to add fun.

To be honest, I'm more confident in Saints Row 3.

thats exactly what 4 was missing, fun. too realistic. only being able to store as many cars as can physically fit in your garage is weak for this kind of game. i dont care if its unrealistic, i want to be able to have 100 cars on hand whenever i want one!

thats one cool thing about Crackdown in terms of the sandbox style game. they let you keep tons of vehicles at hand and even made it plausible to do so with the whole Agency underground motorpool thing.

Yeah, Saints Row is actually fun even though it's silly. It's far better than GTA right now.

GTA: San Andreas was far more fun than GTA4.

Have you forgotten games are supposed to be fun?

Have you forgotten that different people have different definitions of fun? I've been playing GTA since the second one on the the original playstation (although I didn't spend to much time with that game) and I had no problems with the direction Rockstar took the game. Vice City is still my favorite for the time being but I felt the soul of GTA was still there.
However in terms of content GTA IV definatly lost some of the things that VC and SA had added, feeling more in line with GTA III where your distractions were always pretty much either races or massacres. But like with GTA III the template is there for something ball bustingly amazing and if anybody can realize that potential it's rockstar.

If GTAV keeps the GTAIV template then they can throw in all the extra's they want, I will not play it.The game engines is shit imo. Even TBoGT which is far more fun than GTAIV because of the extra stuff, like GTAIV once it's done the game is no longer fun.Compare that to the old GTA's where even after completing them 100% I could still spend 100 hours or more having a blast messing around.

As long as GTAV performs better on the average PC that isn't modified to be a gaming rig I'll be satisfied. GTA IV didn't perform very well on my PC.

The reason I did like GTA IV was because of the realism. It made you feel badass when you did something really cool.
