A price drop would be an attempt for Sony to get back some of the sales they didnt get becuase of this, and also to get back the customers who switched to the 360.

In other words, just because this hasn't affected the console sales (Which while the security flaw was around and people could literally do anything with their PS3, people were grabbing them like hot cakes) doesn't mean there hasn't been repercussions.
Capcom has lost hundreds of thousands, if not millions due to all of this and those guys were all about the console. Now they are focusing on the PC more, which they have been doing for the last few years, kind of tells you something really
With that in mind, two things will either happen. One, the PS3 will most likely get a price reduction in E3. Two, a new model is coming out, so Gamestop is trying to get rid of older models asap. Or it can be a bit of both, where they'll be a $200 price version of the PS3 with a basic HDD storage space and the regular $300 version with more storage space than last time.
