Halo Wars to be on PC

IGN has revealed today that Halo Wars is going to be on the 360 and the PC.One thing new is: Halo Wars on the 360 will be able to play maps created from the PC version.

And if a report on the gaming web site Angry Pixel is to be believed, the final game will support cross-platform play between the Xbox 360 and PC versions. Yep, we know - a PC version of Halo Wars hasn't even been announced yet. We'll let Angry Pixel explain:

"Halo Wars, touted as an Xbox 360 exclusive, is also apparently in development for the PC. But that's not all - apparently the game will also feature cross-platform play, a la UNO and Shadowrun, between gamers on the Microsoft console and their PC counterparts," the site reports, citing one of its "friends over at Microsoft."

Not content to sling only one juicy bit of Ensemble info onto the internets, the site goes on to say Xbox 360 players will be able to play Halo Wars maps created by PC players. How true are the newest Halo Wars rumors? There's no way to tell yet, as Microsoft is (as usual) not commenting on rumor and speculation.

    I always thought that Halo Wars would be playable on the PC eventually, if not at launch, then a port to PC somewhere along the lines.

    As for other platforms, I would figure it would be just Xbox and PC like the other Halo games.

    No, not at all. I think all halo games are 360 and xbox related, I think it should stay that way. Although, they may make more money because more people have a PS2 then a xbox.

    ps2 or any sony or nintendo no,but the xbox 360 and pc is obvious,which really isnt much of a suprise.i mean yeah it is multi system but it wouldve been better 2 release it on other consoles like the wii or ps3.

    It has to come out for PC. RTS games on consoles is just dumb. It's too constrained.

    this might be interesting. ive always thought of halo as a simple, pretty dumb, brainless shooter, so the prospect of an RTS, where thought and planning has to be put into assaults, is a pretty attractive prospect. and seeing as im a PC gamer and not the 360 this might be one to watch.
