With Atlus's Shin Megami Tensei: Devil Summoner 2 - Kuzunoha Raidou vs. King Abaddon having been announced in Weekly Famitsu last week, a few more screenshots and game details have hit Japanese newssites for the latest adventure for the badass that is Raidou Kuzunoha.
The game is set in Taisho Era 20, the period that followed the Meiji era of westernization in Japan. Protagonist Raidou Kuzunoha is the fourteenth man to bear the name; whatever name he had before is irrelevant. The silent and strong type, he is charged with the mission to quell the demon uprisings that happen in Edo, using his battle skills and summoning his own demons to do battle. One of the major additions to the battle system is that Raidou can now summon a second demon into battle, at the cost of more MAG (demon currency).
Returning to produce and lead the character design is renowned artist Kazuma Kaneko. The music will be done by Shoji Meguro.
The game is set to release in Japan on October 23, 2008, and will retail for 7329 yen. There will be a special edition that will come packaged with a new version of Shin Megami Tensei III: Nocturne, titled Shin Megami Tensei III: Maniax Chronicle Edition, that will feature Raidou in the game. This Devil Summoner PLUS edition will cost 10479 yen.
