Captain Rainbow Screens to Make Your Wishes Come True

Akira_EX | August 17, 2008 | Screenshots | Wii
Japanese newssite Famitsu put up a new batch of screenshots yesterday for the newest Game of the Forever, Captain Rainbow, an action/adventure for the Wii that is being developed by the makers of Chibi-Robo, skip Ltd..

Players take control of Nick, the alter-ego of the superhero has-been Captain Rainbow, who arrives at Mimin Island to regain his popularity. Mimin Island is known far and wide as the rumored place where your dreams can come true, and that has attracted a colorful cast of Nintendo's second-and-third tier, long lost and forgotten characters. You will see the likes of Birdo from Super Mario Bros. 2 USA, Little Mac from Punch-Out!!, Takamaru from Nazo no Murasamejou, Crazy Tracy from Link's Awakening, the soldiers from Famicom Wars, and much more, trying to make their dreams come true.

Captain Rainbow can divided into two parts: an adventure part where Nick must collect Kirarin from performing various services for the Nintendo islanders. With enough Kirarin collection, the action part is triggered, where a star will fall from the sky and Nick must bring the star to the altar at the top of the island, where he can choose to grant his wish or that of a partner.

Captain Rainbow is set to hit Japan on August 28, 2008 and retail for 6800 yen. You can check out the official site here. You can check out the rest of the screenshots at the source.
