Announced in last week's issue of Weekly Famitsu was an upcoming online RPG from Sega: Phantasy Star Zero for the Nintendo DS. It is the latest installment in the Phantasy Star subseries, Phantasy Star Online. Veterans will see the familiar race/job combinations along with all new ones, although with new character designs.

Toshiyuki Kubooka is in charge of character design, with his claim to fame being the character designer for the Lunar and Idolm@ster series. Tooru Shiwaru (PSO online quest scenario writer) and Teru Arai (mystery writer) will head the game's scenarios.

Phantasy Star Zero is currently set to release this winter in Japan. You can check out the rest of the screenshots at the source.
