New screenshots for Marvelous Entertainment's upcoming Wii ARPG, Rune Factory Frontier have hit Japanese newssites today. Featured in the screenshots are a new heroine, Udzuki, and more info on the game's battles and what else is available in the game.

Udzuki hails from a country in the Far East in search of her missing brothers, and ends up meeting main character Laguna. Battle-wise, there are many weapons and magic to choose from to vanquish monsters. Weapons can also have elemental attributes to assist in elemental attacks. In dungeons, there are also portals which monsters will use to travel within the dungeon between battle zones; these can be destroyed to stop further spawning. You will also be able to befriend some monsters with the aid of an item which Laguna can use for various things, including being used as a mount.

Rune Factory Frontier is set to hit Japan on November 17th, and will North America in the first quarter of 2009. You can find the official site for the game here. Check out the rest of the screenshots over at the source.
