Whilst we haven't had any new information on Final Fantasy XIII for awhile, and don't expect any until the Tokyo Game Show in a few weeks time, it appears that Yoichi Wada made an appearance on TV Tokyo today detailing the recent goings-on at Square Enix. And what better game to showcase than Final Fantasy XIII ?

Below are 3 in-game renders of a character from Final Fantasy XIII and that eye could even give Heavy Rain a run for its money !

[Final Fantasy XIII Forum]

Yoichi Wada appeared on TV Tokyo today for an interview about what's currently going on at Square-Enix. He mentions the Tecmo take-over bid Square-Enix made as well as showing off some development screenshots of Final Fantasy XIII to show us that they are actually doing something. Thankfully, someone took some screencaps of the program.

The first two screenshots show the Pigtails Girl's model inside Crystal Tools. The video is supposed to be showing how changes in lighting direction appear on the model. The final screenshot shows how it looks up close in her eyes.

Ugly i mean that eye alone looks so flat and lifeless anyone can make a glossy texture, the other pics are so low res it's not even funny especially for a game that is "close to CGI" according to SquareEnix a few months ago.

Well quality is always going to be an issue when someone takes a photo of their TV screen...

The model in action looks very close to CG.

Though thats the whole thing that screen there is not the same as those screens there, i sure as hell hope Square aren't pulling the same shit they pulled with every other Final Fantasy, the cutscenes rendered beyond all hope and then gameplay that looks crap in comparison it may be a TV photo but it still looks bad.

Well of course CG footage is always going to be ahead of in-game footage.

It's the same for every other game that uses CG footage.

But if you think that screenshot looks bad, then I'd love to know what you think is a good looking game...

Any game that doesn't claim their graphics are going to be close to CG and then not deliver, i am all for games with lesser graphics i just don't like big claims that are never backed up, i mean i absolutely love Resistance i think it is a beautiful game but only because it never claimed to be anything more than it was. I hope this game matches their claims but Square wouldn't show this footage if they weren't proud of it and after the CG claims they made months back i would not be proud of that.

          You're a lost cause then.

Judging from that screenshot alone I can already tell you that this game is one of the best looking games of this generation ( although a lot is down to artist direction these days ).

Cruxis I believe is down to opinion and personal taste then anything. I love those screens and think its very beautiful like you, but again not everyone is going to feel the same. If fact, the graphics isn't a concern the real concern is whether or not the game itself play great and is so far better then FF12.

"Beautiful" isn't quite the words I'd use for development screenshots. They're always as ugly as a hat full of asses. XD

Though I've seen the actual in-game shots, and they are impressive.

Different opinions about the screens. You find them ugly like BlackLabel, I find them beautiful.

Don't argue with Final Blade, we all know it's futile.
