Sonic and the Black Knight - Screens!

Dark Arcanine | October 02, 2008 | Screenshots | Wii
Sonic and the Black Knight is another title in the Sonic series which will be released exclusively for the Nintendo Wii early next year.

The storyline is based on the old story of King Arthur. However he's been corrupted and morphed into the Black Knight and so Sonic takes up the quest to restore equilibrium with the use of a sword by the name Calibur.

It's expected to sell well, incorporating not only the fast pace of other Sonic games but also a brand new fighting system with the sword, making use of the motion sensing capabilities of the Wii Remote.

The screenshots give an idea of what to expect in terms of gameplay and graphics.

Wow, Sega is really starting to go all out to try and bring the blue ball back to glory. This should be pretty interesting. I just hope the sword system doesn't feel tacked on.

Seeing as Sonic Chronicles actually turned out to be a good game (well not THAT surprising, its freaking bioware) maybe Sonic has turned a new leaf and now his games will start to rock again. I always like to be optimistic about things.

I like the look of it. The idea of a whole new way to battle with the sword and everything looks to be really cool. I like the graphics too, I don't care what those 2D people like. xD

I think it's an interesting new spin which could work out well for Sonic.

I have to disagree, I think the game sounds more of a mediocre game at best. I mean King Aurthur type story and having a sword called "Calibur"? Yea sorry, gimmicky at best. Well it'd fit perfectly with the Wii.

It's better than Excalibur if you get my drift.

No insulting the Wii! Using an overused story is quite a common thing these days. =(

      You mean like Mario?

I rather the game not be similar in anyway to king Aurthur let alone calling a sword Calibur, when we all know its Excalibur.

    Yeah like Mario.

I think they perhaps just wanted to make it easier to relate to. I suppose the whole evil knight thing in general is a little overused, so taking a known story and changing it with a twist and stuff was the best way to go about what they wanted to do for this game.
