First revealed in Weekly Famitsu, Demon's Souls for the PS3 is assumed to be one of Sony Computer Entertainment Japan's games that would have been for TGS. The game is being developed by From Software. It has a dark fantasy theme, with players able to create and customize their own character to begin their adventures.

Demon's Souls will release in Japan next year. Check out the rest of the screenshots over at the source.

Looks rather bland but im sure in the end it will be another good JRPG under the Sony brand.

Looks really boring. Hopefully Sony has more RPGs for Japan, otherwise they're beat.

Thank god I thought it was only me. Dull colour pallete and lacking extravagence and variety; certainly does not carry the charm that Fable II looks to have.

I'm just thinking here, "If this is the only new RPG Sony has to show at TGS, then they're done for..."

Exactly. There needs to be more RPG's coming up with a little more colour and charm. Lost Odyssey is a fine example on how an RPG should be made. It was awesome. Not since FFX had I felt so immersed into the game.

Ironic because I have always stigmatised Sony as the RPG powerhouse but Im not seeing much from them. This goes no way to bettering their RPG libary.

Well, I've got plenty of confidence in Valkyria Chronicles (which the Japanese already love), and White Knight Chronicles (which looks epic and colorful already).

So its a Jrpg, acting like a western rpg? That sound really good.

Yeh they seem to be good titles really building up the Playstation RPG selection. Hopefully they can be upto Lost Odyssey quality, which Im sure they will be, Level 5 are fantastic.

It does look a little generic but I wouldn't judge it yet. I'll wait until more info and screens are available.

Must be the only here who finds this game looking cool, and has nice pictures.

Only problem is, LO wasn't great, and had poor sales in Japan.

Sales NEVER = quality. Just because a game sells well or poorly doesnt say anything about how good or bad a game is, you actually have to play the damn thing first in order to see if its good or not. Iron Man was a horrible game and it got good sales, System Shock, a fantastic FPS back in the day, didnt have such great sales, great reviews, but not great sales.

Maybe not, but it shows that no many like it, especially in a RPG area like Japan. They didn't like it at all. Had mediocre sales in comparison to other big RPG games in that area, which usually hits a million in a few days cause its that popular. I played it, it wasn't bad, but hardly anything I'd called awesome.

@Kill, I suppose it is a matter of opinion and taste, I just didn't see how it was how RPG should be made. But thats me.

Regardless of sales, I found it fantastic. To me, it WAS a fine example of how an RPG should be made. Mistwalker are very talented. I do not care for its success on the whole. I enjoyed every bloody minute of it!

RPGs can be made any way they bloody well want. If all RPGs were like LO, I'd only ever need one of them.
