There are new screenshots for Square Enix's upcoming remake, Chrono Trigger for the Nintendo DS. This batch of screens show the DS specific extras that were added to this version of the game.
For starters, there will be time and space distortions scattered throughout the world that Crono and co. will encounter. Stepping into these distortions transport the party to an alternate area where they will being a sidequest. There will also be an all-new bonus dungeon, the Dragon Sanctuary, and a Monster Arena mode. In the Monster Arena, you will be able to raise your own monsters and have them fight to get stronger. You can also take on your friends wirelessly.
Chrono Trigger DS is set to release in Japan in November, and release in North America on November 25th. You can find the official site here. Check out the rest of the screenshots over at the source. The game will be at this week's Tokyo Game Show 2008 from October 9th to October 12th at Square Enix's booth in Makuhari Messe in Chiba, Japan.

Judging by the FFIV remake, i look forward to playing this, always wanted to play Chrono Trigger but never had the chance.
