New screenshots for Batman Arkham Asylum for the PS3/Xbox 360. In the following screenshots more of the game's environments are shown as well as some of the villains players will be facing off against.
The following screenshots look spot-on amazing. And in all honesty, I think I can safely say that I can't wait to play this game. I can't spot any clipping issues between the models, despite Batman's proximity to the bad guys, and the lighting and texture work are simply amazing.

Anyway, the graphics look surprisingly amazing. I didn't expect this game to look this good.
Also, that article says that this game is based on The Dark Knight. Is that true? That's the first time I've heard that. I thought (and very much hoped) this game would be based on the Batman: Arkham Asylum comic.
I've never actually read that comic, but I'd honestly much rather have a game based on it than TDK. Not only does the comic's story sound awesome to me, but I just feel like a TDK-based game shouldn't happen.
Also, if this game is based on TDK, then Batman shouldn't look so old considering that TDK (I'm assuming) took place during the early years of Batman's career.
Story is based around Batman capturing Joker and returning him to Arkham Asylum, but once doing so, all hell breaks loose and Joker takes over the facility.
Graphics definitely look awesome though. That third pic with Batman hanging upside over the bad guy is brilliant.
I'm happy it's not completely/directly based on TDK. Like I said, I don't think a game based on TDK should happen.
Not linked to a film license frees the developer hands - they don't want to crap on what Nolan did in giving us a real DARK Knight and but are thankfully not acknowledging the Schumacher acid-trips we dare not mention (i give him credit for paying homage to the Adam West series, but come on... trying batutsie-man in our generation was some goofy isht)
Also, the combat system and detective aspects (e.g. Batman got his start in detective comics) shows that these guys may actually deliver a Batman game worth playing.
Can't wait.
