First revealed in the latest issue of Weekly Famitsu, official art and new screenshots for the latest character shown for Square Enix and tri-Ace's upcoming RPG, Star Ocean: The Last Hope for the Xbox 360 have hit the internet by way of Famitsu today. This new character is Muria Tionises, a Symbology user who is also the Planet En II's head researcher.

Also recanted on the site is the game's Private Action system, where players can see various sequences with Edge and each one of his party members. The Private Actions affect a hidden "Emotional value" that determines which ending the player will receive upon completing the game.

Star Ocean: The Last Hope is set to release in Japan on February 19th, while release in the US on March 3rd. You can find the official site here. Check out the rest of the screenshots over at the source.

Well her design and name is definitely inkeeping with the rest of the characters.

As expected after SO3, it seems they are saving the ridiculously good looking CGI for three, maybe four scenes throughout the entire game and using cell shaded graphics to save disc space (not a knock on the 360, just a remark on how Tri-Ace does business).

Here's to hoping the characters have better VA's than SO3 though. Character design seems to be fine, but I really, really don't want to have to mute the voices during gameplay. SO3 had three, maybe four good VAs in all.

"Tionises" sounds like a type of foot fungus :/

      I'm assuming that's a bad thing?

        No, foot fungus is AWESOME!

Yeah, it's an awkward sounding character name.

Muria has a strong resemblance to Judith from Tales of Vesperia. :S

Isn't ToV 360 exclusive? Cause I'd like to play that game.

As for this, Muria looks alright. Nothing special.

That was exactly the first thing which popped into my head too! Not that anything which reminds me of Judith is a bad thing.

I can't even think of a tri-Ace character with similar, erm, appendages.

Something tells me Square Enix is to blame.

While this is true, I think it's worth mentioning that Valkyrie Profile 2 was filled with random innuendos and the like in Seraphic Gate.

Of course, SE could be to blame for that too.

I... never quite... finished Valkyrie Profile 2. Didn't even get close.

It's actually a really good game. Sure, the main characters are annoying and the story isn't the best (in typical Tri-Ace fashion), but the battle system is robust.
