Nippon Ichi recently released a bunch of new screenshots for their upcoming SRPG port to the PSP, Makai Senki Disgaea 2 Portable, courtesy of Dengeki Online.

Disgaea 2 will feature the following improvements, changes, and additions as compared to the PS2 original:

  • Akutare (Axel in the US) chapter, where you control the formerly-famous character
  • Can turn off combat sequences
  • Can zoom out the camera
  • Have sorting capabilities for skills
  • Warehouse items will have field item commands
  • New techniques available
  • Magichange ability (transform monsters into temporary weapons) from Disgaea 3

Disgaea 2 Portable is set to release in Japan on March 26th, 2009. Check out the rest of the screenshots over at the source.

    English version plz, kthxbai.
    I loved the first Disgaea on the PSP, but it got somewhat frustratingly hard nearing the end. I guess strategy RPGs aren't my thing.
    Still, I'd give this thing a try if it comes in English.

    I'm sorta tempted (being a NIS/Disgaea fanboy), but I'm not really interested TBH.

    Hm, guess when this comes out in NA i'll dump my PS2 version and get this... Enough new features to warrant a buy, as long as it still has Voice Acting.

    This is my least favorite Disgaea game of the 3, but I still like it.
