There are new screenshots available for Square Enix's upcoming Dragon Quest IX for the Nintendo DS. This batch of screenshots come alongside the more on the game's story and its quest system.

Dragon Quest IX's story revolves around the World Tree which bears the Goddess fruit, the item necessary to open the path to the kingdom of heaven. The tree and the fruit grow by needing the crystalized essences of gratitute from people across the world. To obtain these, the hero must do quests and earn the people's gratitute.
