After the news Borderlands would be completely switching its art style, many of us were left confounded, especially after the sweet E3 trailer. Also, turns out it's not actually cel-shading they're using, but a new technique (we'll be damned if it doesn't look like cel-shading, though).

In any case, its developer has released an in-game screenshot giving us a proper look as to what to expect, pictured here. What do you think?

Well it's not bad. BUT that's not what I wanted. I was enthralled by the original videos. This will be a game I MAY pick up at a bargain rather than rushing out and buying first day like I had originally planned.

I think it looks great, however, the characters are starting to look kiddish.

It look awesome how it did before. The cell shaded "look" doesnt work well imo.

As long as they dont change the mechanics then I'm still up for it.

Ummm.. OK I was hoping this game would be more grown up. Perhaps it still will be like XIII on the PS2 which had the same art style, but when i see cel-shading to that extreme i think childs entertainment. The game looks badass before now it just looks like a really weird looking game.

Hmm . . . I don't like cell shading too much. It works with some games but not all. But despite that, this art style doesn't seem to be too too bad. Kinda changes the way I view the game though, and not really for the bad either.

Still not sure about the game myself though.

Based on that screenshot they're right, it's not cell shading but whatever technique they used is probably inspired/based off of it. Personally, I like it and can't wait to see actual in-game video footage, especially on the PC and in HD..totally the way to go

Nothing really looks like it's changed besides the art style so the game will still be fun, but I wish they hadn't changed it to the cel-shaded look. Why would they have changed the style so much? All the videos that I've seemed looked like they invested a lot into their visuals, is cel-shading an easy shift from what they had?
