Activision has announced some of the new songs on the Fall-targeted Guitar Hero 5 as well as the first two images of the gameplay. It looks like a much more realistic experience, visually-speaking anyway.

Announced Songs:
The Rolling Stones – Sympathy for the Devil
Bob Dylan – All Along The Watchtower
The White Stripes – Blue Orchid
Santana – No One To Depend On (LIVE)
Vampire Weekend – A-Punk
Tom Petty - Runnin Down a Dream
Johnny Cash – Ring of Fire
Kings of Leon – Sex on Fire

And do they figure if they spackle on some pretty graphics it'll make me want to pay $60 for 85-95 songs I could easily get as DLC on RB?

But I do admit, I looks pretty cool. Just not worth $60. I was wondering when Tom Petty would come to music games. Can't wait for some TP DLC.

I am a sucker for some Sympathy for the Devil, but do prefer RB over GH in general. Who knows, maybe I will convert someday.

Pah, there will be more Stones on RB. There were some leaked tracks a while ago with several of them being from the Stones. Almost all of the list has been made available so far. Just be patient.

    Sex on Fire! SWEET!!

Never played Rock Band as they hate the English people, by releasing it 50 years after tey release it in US, so im a GH man.

Cant wait for this, Got all the shizz so im just gonna buy the disc, but ill bet they make a new feature on the drum kit guitar, which people will get sucked into buying a whole new instrument.

Wow your missing out on so much when your not playing RB.

I bought Guitar Hero World Tour Band Kit in January then bought Rock Band 2 sometime in March, GHWT is hardly ever played now.

Harmonix have it right, instead of releasing about 6 different games in a year, which Activision seem to be doing, they just keep their fans happy with ample loads of GOOD DLC.

    I blame Harmonix...

Rock Band 2 isnt out yet in UK, still dont know when... no release date!

Apparently, you can use GHWT drums and guitar with Rock Band 2, so i might just buy the disc when it eventually does come out.

And, i know where your coming from. I think the game itself is awesome, but Activision selling techniques are shocking. Just keep releasing as many stupid titles as possible, i think i heard a Superhero version of Guitar Hero is on the cards?? WTF!

But i doubt ill be able to adapt to the Rock Band game from the guitar hero game. I dont like the square's the have for notes, i prefer the circles. But thats just me

Wtf are you on about? I live in the UK and bought Rock Band 2 from HMV.

It was released in the UK in November of last year, its just insanely hard to find sometimes lol. You're gonna have to look around for it, its just that popular of a game it sells out quite fast.

The circles are just way too big for me now. I can't play any GH game now just because I'm used to the rectangular notes. Much easier to see, to hit, and they aren't distracting when you hit the notes, unlike GH where a poof of fire erupts.

But everyone has their preferences. I used to be a GH nut until I saw the shit load of awesome songs on RB1. That's what sold me.

It's hard to support Guitar Hero when there's over 9000 GH titles being released. Rock Band 2 + DLC is definitely the right way to go about it. But I suppose it's business really, why try and get consumers to buy each song/song pack when you can get them to buy an entirely new game!

Now if only good business was being done and Rock Band 2 was freakin released here in Aus! I'm STILL only seeing Rock Band 1 in all the shops around here. It's just beyond a joke now, seriously. And nobody say I can import, it's all about principal. I shouldn't have to import a game that's released basically in all the other major places in the world. RB3 is going to be out before RB2 even gets properly released, I swear. /rant
