NEW God of War 3 screenshots

After the March reveal of God of War 3, we've had virtually no info on the game- until now. Some of these screenshots are from the trailers, but most of them are new, and some are even in-game. Nothing much, but maybe it'll hold us till E3, eh?

It’s that thousand words thing again, why wax lyrical about these screenshots when you can just see them for yourself. Wonderful.

    Impressive. but I don't want to sound like a graphics whore, but I hope this game doesn't come out this year, that way they can improve it a lot. I mean uncharted 2 currently kills this game. Hell it kills almost all games on the market.

      I was afraid I was the only one who thought that. Those flame effects aren't that impressive. Good, but not impressive imo.

    I think those screens look gorgeous, they seem to have improved from the early trailers.

    Comparing it to Uncharted II is like comparing apples and oranges - God Of War III sometimes hundreds of enemies on-screen at once, and has a constantly shifting and acting background scenery. It can't possibly compare graphically to a slick, linear action game like Uncharted.

    The second picture had me in Awe, not the best graphics, but it's great compared to the last God of War.

    Where are these "best graphics ever" Jaffe was raving about? I'm gonna be a graphics whore and say that these are underwhelming.

    I expect more from a God of War title.
    Everything about the previous titles have been exceptional.

    These graphics, are far from it given the expectations I have.
    Not usually one to mock graphics but I expect to see much more improvement before release.

    God of War has a very good graphics. I wanna get the 3rd one for PS3. This game has very good graphics, good battle-system, and have a very interesting story.

    I hope now no one says "oh GOWII looks almost as good as that". Anyone who says that is a moron (here's anticipating several smart asses to follow up this post with said remark). They look infinitely better than GOWII, and there's still a whole year left (almost)

      The year left means nothing. The graphics aren't going to change significantly from what they are now as that would mean restarting the whole process. They can only really make slight changes from this point.

        Huge changes can happen in a year. Lighting, shading, textures and more can all improve significantly even late in development.

          The graphics won't change significantly. I have no doubt that changes will be made, but significant changes implies retexturing, reshading and relighting; which would mean essentially starting from scratch. I doubt they will spend the time to do that when they will be more concerned with ironing out bugs, glitches and polishing off the small details.

    It's really hard to surpass the predecessors. I mean, how exactly are you going to get better than that? It's also hard to look at the small details of a fast paced game like this.

    I imagine that they will be working on the huge backgrounds as well, I remember some parts from GoW II, like the Steeds of Time, walking around Atlus, and Clothos...they were too good.
