New screenshots are available for Namco Bandai's upcoming fighting title Tales of Dissidia Versus, showcasing a bit of the game's story and some of the game's different play modes.

The story will revolve around the Yggdrasil World Tree and take characters face-to-face with those from another game. For instance, in Lloyd and Colette's chapter, they will face off again Tales of Phantasia's Cless Alvein.

In Story Mode or the additional modes, you can gain GP for characters to improve and customize their statistics, and SP can be used to equipped character skills. Battles with different types of rules can also be fought.

Tales of Versus releases on August 6th in Japan. Check out the rest of the screenshots at the source.
