New screenshots and details are available for Square Enix's upcoming RPG, Dragon Quest IX: Hoshizora no Mamoribito for the Nintendo DS. This time around, it's more in-depth about the game's job system.

Naturally, each job will have its own unique skill set, following much in the vein of Dragon Quest VI. You can earn skill points on level up that can be applied to learn more skills for that class. You can choose whenever you want to spend these skill points from the menu. If you learn a skill, you can have it available if the character is currently using another job.

Aside from the basic classes, there are also higher-level classes that require more work to unlock. You will need to seek out a specific person and obtain a quest; upon completion, you report back and gain access to that job class. Some of these higher job classes include Battle Master, Paladin, Magic Warrior, and Ranger.
