Halo 3 2 Discs Long?

Linkin Park Fan | June 08, 2007 | Screenshots | XBOX 360 Misc
It seems like there is a possibility that Halo 3 could be a 2 discs. If you look at this image there are 3 discs, two saying game discs and another saying one bonus features. Could this be because of the limited DVD-9 storage space?
Usually box art wouldn't be very exciting, but this is Halo 3 box art.

Gav's already fired up the printer to make little replica boxes, and pretend that he didn't, in fact, just get Halo 2 PC in the mail but via a mammoth Microsoft bugger-up got a final, unrated copy of Bungie's third. He can dream, bless him.

There's only two days of the multiplayer beta left (and don't we know it), so if you were thinking about being social this weekend you might want to break off any prior obligations and start caning High Ground, not rubbish Snowbound.

If you're planning to go the whole hog, you can check out pics of the legendary edition pack here. You posh sod.

Could just be 1 disc for online play, although that would be odd for this type of game. I wouldn't be surprised in the least if DVD9 is becoming a problem.

That is what I was thinking. One for campaign, another for online.

You guys are saying that multiple discs are a bad thing. Since when? It means that we're getting something for our money, and multiple discs sure as hell didn't hurt anyone back in the PS1 days.

This is a little bad for microsoft because they said that blu ray was not needed. Yet there biggest game isn't even on one disc.

Kinda off topic, but that boxart + CD art looks great. It really sets the mood of the game.

There hasn't been a game with more than one Disc in a while for consoles I think. The RPG genres for PS had quite a few. Ah well, it'll mean more story and action for the Halo fanboys.

    HM. INTERESTING. Not really.

Big deal. It's 2 discs. Seems like kinda a pain in the ass, seeing as you can't open the 360 without it resetting. =[

Whatever, I'm sure they'll make it work somehow.

If they can get the Campaign as long as possible, that's great. The only problem that I have with this is that I'm the kind of person that plays the Campaign while I'm waiting for my friends to finish a match before I join them. I would really prefer not having to change discs.

GC had several 2 disc games, although this is due to the mini-disc's smaller size.

I just wonder which is cheaper, making one Blueray, or two DVD9

A Blu-ray disc costs 5 cents to manufacture now, so it's not like it's going to make a difference anyways.

The boxart looks very sexy indeed. To be honest I am not over-fussed about it requiring 2 discs. So what, you have to move your ass from the chair to change the discs once in a while. Not the end of the world is it?

i agree with rinkydink123, i bought enter the matrix for GC way back when, and i didn't mind changing discs between 2 of the levels, and i doubt i'll mind changing discs in halo 3 either.

I would think that multiple discs for the same game would only be for adventure games or things of that nature. But a shooter? Could be interesting.

Resident Evil 4 for the GC required two discs as well, and that was easily one of the best action games of last generation.

Quite frankly, Next Gen has nothing to do with format and likewise, nothing to do with graphics. Next Gen involves getting the player involved.

bbb7002004 - I'd say the Blu-Ray disks would cost more...its a new technology and all..

Well, the last PS2 game I recall that was 2 disks long, that was good anyhow, was Star Ocean III: Till the End of Time...By Square-Enix...

Gamecube doesn't count IMO, cuz it's disks were the smallest of all the next gen home consoles...

This will be so funny, since the Xbox 360 quits to the dashboard as soon as you eject the disc... The console was not made for multiple disc games, this could be potentially embarrassing for Microsoft.

That's what I was thinking the main problem with multiple discs was going to be. They're definitely goign to have to find a way around that if they do make it multiple discs.

I'm sure it will follow a burned in prompt to keep your game in catche while you switch disks.
