Famitsu.com have released a batch of gorgeous new Final Fantasy XIII screenshots featuring the new characters, the battle system and some of the beautiful locations in the game.
While we saw many of these scenes in the Tokyo Game Show trailer, it's nice to see the detail that has gone into everything. It looks like FFXIII is shaping up to be an amazing experience!

I showed the TGS trailer to my friend yesterday and he refused to believe that it wasn't all CG.
I'm not sure where this "it looked better in the past" idea is coming from. Examples?
I'm not making excuses for Square, but FF games have always been like this.
The rest of the game looks absolutely stunning.
I refuse to acknowledge that thing is Bahamut
Though the vegetation isn't all it could be. Uncharted 2's vegetation looks more real.
SquareEnix have obviously pumped a lot of the consoles horsepower into the character models. Though the rest is pretty average since as I stated earlier the grass in one of the gameplay screenshots is diabolical. There are lots of low res textures scattered all over these screenshots. It looks pretty don't get me wrong, but when you are a developer and among everything you tout your visuals to blur the line between video games and pre rendered CGI you better do better than this.
I'm betting that when they start doing it to Versus, you're suddenly going to stop complaining. We can swap, and-and I'll start and I'll whinge every Versus article about how they don't care about The 3rd Birthday and we'll see how long it takes you to tell me to shut up.
The story and characters on the other hand...
Very smexy <3
