Eye-appeal is buy-appeal, heh. The screens remind me of DoA4 (the glow on their costumes). The release date is still a year away, but these screens do look promising. Can't wait for more updates! With the exception of Ivy, the characters look good so far.
As promised, Electronic Gaming Monthly managed to get a first look at Soul Calibur IV, and here are the scans from the magazine. The level of detail in the graphics includes "leather straps on Ivy's thighs make real-time indentations into her skin as she fights," and even "ridiculously endowed ninja gal Taki, who demonstrates what happens now that consoles can chum out superflucous polygons to render realistic nipples under a skintight leotard."
In my opinion, Soul Calibur I is the best 3D fighting game ever released, and after two dull sequels, this one seems to bring a fresh breeze into the series. You can check out the other impressive in-game scans below.

Am I the only one who sees this as a waste of space? How does this add value to the game, unless you just get off on looking at virtual women.
Tell me how you can have hundreds of enemies on screen at once, how the game world changes real time around you, tell me something that actually adds to the game, not that some idiotic clothing detail moves around as you are fighting. No one will care after about ten minutes of watching the game. What a waste of computer power.
In terms of gameplay, doesn't seem like you're getting much more from next gen than now-gen.
Taki & Tira looks good and not to mention Siegfried <3
