Ryu-Gi of the zeldauniverse.net forums has created a bunch of gorgeous (sadly, fake) Zelda Wii screenshots using PC mod Garry's Mod, giving gamers a general idea on what future Zelda games might end up looking like for next-gen consoles.

If Zelda 2010 ends up looking anything like this, I'll cry happy tears.

Go to the source for more screenshots.

While we wait for the official Zelda Wii announcement at E3 2010, why not post some fake screen shots while we wait?

Before anyone asks, I'm using Garry's Mod to make these.

One of my biggest gripes with Twilight Princess was its boring characters and unimaginitive locations, so here's hoping Zelda Wii will be more like OoT and MM in regards to locations and characters.

If it ends up looking anything like the above screenshots, I'll be happy

Yeah, looking forward to Zelfa Wii as well.

Twilight Princess was more about the adventure, imo. Though the characters and such didn't stand out as much, the exploration was pretty exciting. Then again, Nintendo has thrown in great gameplay, story, and characters for the other Zelda titles, so I can see how TP was a bit of a disappointment...but perhaps our expectations were too high? :S

        Oops, fixed that little typo

Tbh, the lack of good locations and likeable characters was what made the exploration in TP a disappointment, imo. I didn't really want to explore the areas because they were all same-y... and that goddamn batte music playing EVERY TIME an enemy was in the area didn't help matters.

I wanted to explore areas like the Great Bay and Hyrule in OoT.
I wanted to help Kafei and Anju get back together, and help the Zora get her eggs back from the pirates, and help the mailman with his work, etc. in MM.
Things like that were fun. Sadly, TP lacked all that.

Also compounded by the lack of side-quests (one of the reasons I'm a firm believer that the Majora's Mask is the best zelda game of all time). Most of the heart pieces were hidden in the terrain that took half a second to climb up to.

In Zelda Wii I'd definately like some more things to do outside of the story (well, temples/dungeons).

I don't think the characters were particularly unlikeable so to speak, although I did want to punch Agitha's face in...

I didn't find a particular problem with the locations either tbh. Lake Hylia was the best Lake Hylia yet, the Castle Town (whilst not a lot to do) was quite nice, and the what was of the snow was very nice.

Although I will admit the new Kakariko was absolutely horrible, the world map wasn't particularly interesting and some of the places like Faron were dull.

You're right about Lake Hylia...I adored that area, and the music. But it was probably the only location that really stuck out for me, and the only place with more likeable non-playable characters.

Tbh, I hated most of the world map because, as you said, it wasn't interesting. Despite the few towns scattered throughout it, the forests and linear paths seemed to take up the majority of the gameplay and got tedious after a while, especially when I got lost and had no idea where to go next. I'd often find myself backtracking through those godawful forests and caves...and they just weren't fun.

Though I agree most characters in Twilight Princess were pretty boring.. Agitha (the golden bug collecting princess) is probably my favorite character design of any Zelda game, not to mention how cool the inside of her castle looked when you completed her side quest.
So, here's hoping to see her return.

The bloodshed and corpses in those screenshots looks awesome. Nintendo would never allow anymore than green monster blood, but damn that looked awesome.

That last screen's scenery looks pretty familiar.

Blood effects would be an awesome addition and I agree with the side quest comment Aussie made. All of the optional things you could do in MM is why it's my favorite Zelda.

Please, don't make Ryu-gi's ego any bigger.

To be honest, his pics are not that good. Facepunch is home to gods of screenshots, he is merely a peasant compared to them.
