Capcom-Unity have revealed a batch of brand new screenshots for the upcoming Resident Evil: Afterlife movie. It looks like the latest installation to the series has taken some cues from Resident Evil 5.

The movie stars actresses Milla Jovovich as Alice, Ali Larter as Claire Redfield and actor Wentworth Miller as Chris Redfield.

Chris + Wesker + Jill = epic. I'll never get sick of those three.

I still stand by my opinion that the RE movies would have been a shit-ton better without Alice. Whaddaya bet she'll be the one to take on Wesker while Jill and Chris cower in a corner? /facepalm

Actually Razz I'm sure that Jill will be crying in a corner, Chris will actually fight Wesker....for the first 5 seconds then Alice will come, save both Chris and Jill, and stop Wesker while Chris and Jill give it up to Alice.

And I mean "Give it up". Apparently in the RE Movie universe, EVERYONE is Alice's bitch.

I agree. What on earth made them introduce a psychic character into Resident Evil? RE has always been about humans trying to survive a zombie outbreak.

      Before RE4, anyway.

Oh my god, can't wait for this film, seriously I think the RE films are fantastic, their a great take on the games without copying the whole damn thing.

The Executioner looks AMAZING =O and Chris actually looks like Chris should! Wentworth Miller ftw!

Wish people would stop bitching about Alice though =| I think shes a great addition to the flm and she hardly EVER uses the psychic abilities, she used them like, once at the end of RE2 =|

First of all RE should be about normal people getting involved in something bigger than themselves.

Alice acts like a Godsend that can't die and she used them much more in RE3. To the point of being downright silly. I wasn't sure if I was watching an RE movie, or "Heroes- the movie" with Sylar as Wesker.

And all the good characters are always portrayed poorly. I love Ali Larter and watched pretty much all of her movies, but she could have at least TRIED to look like Claire =/
They didn't even get the right hair color.

Jill was useless in RE2. And RE1 is in no way connected to the games other than Umbrella.

I don't want to copy the whole RE saga. I just want them to....get it right? Nicolai was an evil cold hearted psychopath. Not some hero. Nemesis did not have grills....nor does he fall in love and save people at the last minute. He dies a monster, not a hero.
Jill does not sit in a corner waiting for someone else to save her.
Claire should be the one sitting in corners, but her character was the best of them all.

And thus ends my RE movie rant.....for now...

But no matter how much I may hate it, I'll still watch it, because it still uses the name Resident Evil

EDIT: however the actor that plays Chris looks almost exactly like his RE5 counterpart. Well done on that. And make Ali larter look hotter, if she's not gonna look like Claire at least make her show some skin. Milla and jill shouldn't be the only one dressed like a prostitute.

I believe the term "Mary Sue" sums up what's wrong with her character. The director pretty much stuck this random I'm-so-badass-I-melt-zombies character into an already-existing world and made her the center of attention, while the games' heroes get their asses kicked into the corner at every turn. To me, the Resident Evil films aren't adaptations of the games. They're more like Mary Sue fanfiction put on film.

I know I shouldn't compare the movies to the games much...but it boggles my mind how the director got it so frickin' wrong. Feel free to come up with a new plot, but is it too much to ask to see Jill/Chris/Claire/etc kicking ass on their own?

Let's make a film about MGS and introduce a new main character who isn't Snake(s).
Let's make a film about Halo and introduce a new main character who isn't Master Chief.
Let's make a film about Mario and introduce a new main character who isn't Mario.

No, wait, those are all retarded ideas. As is Alice.

    oh man, that sunglasses shot...
if they can recreate that scene from the game on the bigscreen, then the movie is passable

I will watch with the faint hope The Executioner makes the film somewhat scary. While they are at it why not throw in Dr. Salvador for good measure.

Anyway I'd rather this than having someone wander around a mansion finding gems to unlock doors, that shit only works on games =P

Good thing the games aren't like that, then.

Why is the Axecutioner's weapon made out of cardboard?
    • 0
      Miss Razz Apr 11, 10
What I wanna know is, where does the Axecutioner get the axe from? Did he make it himself? Does it magically appear whenever an Axecutioner is 'born'? Is there some dick at Umbrella who's job it is to make these *bleep*ed-up weapons for the Axecutioners?

      I WANT EXPLANATIONS CAPCOM

Hideo, I was thinking the exact same thing.

His animation is all twisted up, very poor work on the Axecutioner.

What really gets me is how do you go from a rocket launcher wielding tyrant to a big man with a big axe? Makes no *bleep*ing sense.

Well I thought by that point Wesker just thought of something he thought was cool like Axeboy or purple footed chainsaw sack killer and it materialized wherever he wanted it to.

May as well, he can do every-*bleep*ing-thing else.
